Our Story

I started Armmad to strengthen the relationship I have with my ancestors’ roots. I wanted to learn and honor their connection to the land that was severed when they were displaced. Weeds, as we so unceremoniously refer to them, plants and herbs offer an avenue to mend parts of ourselves that we have settled into. Whether it be skin ailments, joint pains, muscle cramps, heavy emotions, they answer the call time and time again.

I rely on Medieval Armenian herbal medicine along with contemporary knowledge to design and create herbal salves and balms. We can heal through the dialogues we have with nature.

Thank you for your support!

Armmad integrates contemporary herbal medicine with practices from Medieval Armenia to provide natural remedies. We hope to build up and strengthen Armenia in the future by relying on her native herbs and plants.

I wanted to credit David Berman, my SCORE mentor, who has helped me immensely with armmad as well as Houshamadyan which provides an incredible reference to Armenian folk medicine as it existed in the Ottoman Empire.
