Plant Medicine of Ancient Armenia
Pouys is the work of Ali Cat. Araxie, Kamee Abrahamian and myself. A collaboration I am honored to be a part of and one which we hope to continue.
“The three of us gathered for the purposes of creating POUYS because we all shared a deep love and interest in cultivating relationships with the natural world as a way towards diasporic futurism, ancestral healing and reclamation. For years, we have yearned for a resource such as this, and after hearing from many of our Armenian kin and communities that they too would benefit from such an offering, we decided to do it ourselves. Although we are not expert herbalists, we are proud excavators and whisperers of wisdom that has been long lost through lifetimes of genocide, war, displacement, forced migration, altered historiographies, imperialism coloniality and heteropatriarchy.”
This zine highlights twenty nine different plants and their ancient historical medicinal uses.

Illustrations are hand carved relief prints.
This zine was risograph printed and the cover was hand screen printed all on recycled paper.
This zine was also hand bound with linen thread.
